Oklahoma Watch claimed five statewide awards from the Society of Professional Journalists’ Oklahoma chapter contest for 2011 at the organization’s award ceremony April 21.

Interim editor Warren Vieth took three first place awards for investigative reporting by an individual, government reporting and criminal justice reporting. He was also awarded third place for in-depth enterprise reporting.

Former Oklahoma Watch staff reporter Jaclyn Cosgrove was awarded third place in the state for criminal justice reporting.

Oklahoma Watch placed among top news organizations across the state, including The Tulsa World, The Oklahoma Gazette and The Associated Press.
