The resurgence of measles and spread of drug-resistant germs were the focus of this Oklahoma Watch-Out public forum. Among other things, the discussion covered the controversies surrounding vaccines and hospital efforts to control contagious diseases.
Panelists included Laurence Burnsed, state epidemiologist for the Oklahoma State Department of Health; Dr. Bryan P. White, an infectious disease clinical pharmacist at OU Medicine, and Dr. Thomas Kuhls, a pediatrician and president of Vaccinate Oklahoma, a nonprofit promoting vaccinations.
